Fish oil

It is not the fish itself that produce the omega-3 fatty acids, but what the fish consumes in when feeding on microalgae. Small fish like sardines or any predatory fish get eaten by prey fish and the prey fish then gains the omega-3 fatty acids. Such prey fish includes, salmon, albacore tuna, lake trout, and mackerel may be high in the omega-3 fatty acids since they are the fish at the top of the food chain. Some recent studies have shown that fish oils play a crucial role in preventing atherosclerosis, cancer, depression and heart attacks. Fish oil help maintain the elasticity of the arterial walls and prevents blood clotting and reduces blood pressure.The clinical trials that have been done has shown that fish oil in the form of a suppement is effective in treating disorders such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Raynaud's disease, and ulcerative colitis. Studies have shown that patients with ulcerative colitis, which tend to have low blood levels of EPA, took fish oil and reduced the severity of the condition and many patients were able to discontinue anti-inflammatory medications. In addition fish oil has been shown to help cure some mental disorders such as ADD and ADHD, and aggression.

The studies that were done for cancer patients showed that fish oil was found effective in the progression cycle from benign cancerous stage to the stage of being full blown cancer. It has also been researched to find that it reduced the cancer in a breast cancer research.There is a report that Greek researchers say that fish oil supplements improves the cancer patient's quality of life and survival. Consuming a rich diet of oily fish or the supplement of fish oil is one of the important steps anyone can take to give vibrant health for sure, but some fish are not good since there is a lot of pollution of fresh water lakes and oceans, so some fish may not be consumed since they contain large amounts of pollutants and mercury that can poison you.

The originating spot for most of the fish oil used for Omega purposes are from Peru, Morocco, and Chile, because the levels in the fish of Omega 3 are higher than anywhere else. Peru still is the main fish oil producer in the world. You can buy fish oil over the counter at any health food store in the supplement form or any local grocery store sells an assortment of fish that contain the omega-3 fatty acids.
